I want to add that, true rational people that pride themselves (value amd work towards) self esteem should by necessity be interested in others and in their wellbeing, for that accounts to their own personal wellbeing. An environment full of corruption, frustration and short term (irrational) egoism will never become fulfilling to anyone, not even to the irrational egoists that thrive in it and that promote it. It s an interestinf point of view; while I peesonally do not fully agree with Rand's vision, I do believe that there is no difference in outcome between rational egoism and altruism, and that this outcome is desirable for everyone
